time to update my blog ! my lil girl's birth story Mon 16th Aug 2010 was at work as usual. at around 10.30am i had some pain on my tummy. thought it was jus some tummy pain. didn't really bother me so jus continued working. den at around 11am my tummy got more and more pain. and i went to the toilet to make big business. felt relived after that. @ 11.30am the pain got more and more intensed so i decided to time my pain. within 1hr my pain was at 10 mins interval and i felt like vomiting. told mum and my another colleague and told me to call the emergency no. called and Dr woo called back asked me to go straight to the hospital. mum drove me to Mount A and called baby to come down... halfway to the carpark i vomited. reached hospital at 1pm. was admitted to the delivery ward straight. was put on ctg to checked my contractions and baby's heartbeat. one of the midwifes came to check if my cervix dilate already anot. true enough it's 2.5cm dilated. baby came after that and only baby was allowed in the delivery ward. so mum went home to get my hospital bag packed and brought it to me in the evening. doc came around 4pm to check my cervix. already 5cm dilated. so he said most probably by night time or latest early morning next day will give birth le. i was excited and nervous at the same time. cuz baby out will be pre matured and might have to stay longer at the hospital longer days den me. i pray and chanted that everything would be fine. my contractions were still bearable. not really as pain as morning. at night around 10pm. doc came again to check my cervix. still 5cm and i've got fever on that night. was given injection on my hand and also antibiotics. so doc said might be tmr morning give birth lo. was at the delivery ward for a day already. i couldn't sleep that night. always awaken up by the sharp contractions pain. around 4am doc came to check my contractions. wasn't really strong yet. he went off after that. Tue 17th Aug 2010 Doc came to check me in the morning and i've only dilated 6cm. doc then tell me my cervix is opening very slowy. i've got 2 options 1st either i put on drip to increased contractions to let my cervix dliate fast or transfer to normal ward to observe first. it might take days for my cervix to open fully. doc recommended to observe first is better let baby in my tummy longer time since its still early for me to give birth. so i agreed to transfer to normal ward first. by then my contractions were back to normal didn't feel anything but i cant go home cuz already 6cm dilated. family came to visit me at night and asked me to bath clean clean first if nt suddenly my cervix dilated fast tue midnight give birth. LOL. was able to sleep through at night. Wed 18th Aug 2010 Doc came in the morning to check on me. my contractions were still bearable and cervix still 6 cm dilated. so he asked again of i wan to put on drip or wait again. i asked to wait again. den my mum called and to asked how am i and asked her if i wait or put drip better. she said to put drip better cuz my cervix already dilate 6cm and also i keep going toilet scared later infection. so i called for the nurse to inform doc that i want to put on the drip to increase contractions. 2hrs later at 12pm was pushed into the delivery ward and started to put the drip on me. could feel the contractions coming already still bearable but back very very very pain and suan feeling. every 1 hr the nurse will come in to increase the drip dosage and kept asking if i want to use any painkillers, i rejected them and the nurse was saying that i'm very strong cuz by that time many of the mummies would have asked for epidural. i DIE DIE also dunwan epidural. den at 4pm the nurse came and check my cervix still 6cm and contractions were getting stronger and stronger. she recommended that i use the laughing gas for me to relax so the cervix can dilate faster. so ok lo i used the laughing gas... i took a deep breath in and in jus seconds i kind of blanked out. but i could hear the nurses and baby's voice. i kept breathing in the gas whenever my contractions come as it was really really PAIN!!! den i could hear the doc's voice asking me to relax and breath in nicely and saying ok can push already. then when i was fully awake my position was in the pushing position already. nurse asked me to push whenever my contractions come and i couldn't make any noise when pushing. i pushed for quite a long time and finally baby's out. felt so relived and really happy seeing baby infront of me. babylove went to take pictures while doc stitch my wound. after 30mins was pushed to the normal ward le. my mum and aunt was already outside the delivery ward waiting for me. my mum was so happy seeing me and baby so fine. was super duper weak after that. my leg was shivering vigirously and was very cold. all i wanted is to sleep. was at the normal ward resting then dad, sis and 2 of my cousins, baby's parents came to visit me. they were asking where's baby. and baby's still being bathed by the nurses. asked babylove to go home to rest as he wasn't able to sleep well last 2 nights. babylove came in the morning to accompany me the next day and fri too. stayed at the hospital for 2 days and discharged on fri. at last after 5 days of stay at the hospital i'm discharged & baby can go home too!!! Monday 23rd Aug 2010 Brought baby to the baby doctor to check if baby's alright and everything. went to paragon kinder's clinic introduced by my aunty saying that the baby doc is very good. then the doctor say that baby's heartbeat got very loud murmur sound. asking me to bring baby go do ultrasound scan. suspected that baby's heart got a hole. i heard it and my heart dropped automatically. doctor den says that its normal in many babies and the hole will heal by it self for most of the babies. brought baby to have her blood test done to check for jaundice too. everything is fine. after which brought baby to have the ultra scan done and the heart doc says its quite a big hole and for my baby's case it might take a longer time for the hole to close itself. t.t doctor says its ok normal for pre mature babies. asked me nt to worry so much. but still i will worry. went home after that. now its the 6th day of confinement and there's still a long way to go before the mth ends! baby's growing well and i'm doing well too. ^^ gotta go feed my lil girl now. she's making noise le. <3
